Flight to FINALLY being in Aussie!

Hello!  I made it safe to Australia and I apologize for the delay in this post but internet is limited!!The Plane ride wasn’t actually too bad.  It went a little like this:
  • ·      Got on plane (2nd floor status), settled in and took off.
  • ·      Started watching the movie Hitchcock.
  • ·      Ate, an actual yummy dinner with about two glasses of red wine.  It was something with beef and couscous salad!
  • ·      Tired to stay awake as long as I could to be as close to Australia time as I could… but thanks to the wine as soon as the movie ended I passed out!
  • ·      Got woken up when the person in front of me slammed their chair into my knee (the good knee).  (I have a nice bruise to show for it)
  • ·      Fell back asleep and when I woke up the next time, checked the flight status and only had 8 hours left! (woot woot)  I couldn’t believe I actually sleep that long.
  • ·      Attempted to watch Lincoln and passed back out, clearly it wasn’t that good!
  • ·      Woke up, again and attempted to watch another clearly not so good movie (can’t even remember what is was) and passed out again!
  • ·      Finally woke up, where I wasn’t tired anymore and started watching Black Swan.  Watched that movie while eating a yummy breakfast.  Once the movie ended, I was DONE with traveling.  We however still had about 2 hours.
  • ·      At about a 1-hour and 1/2 left, I started to freshen up and get ready for landing, as I honestly couldn’t take it any longer.
  • ·      Finally landed, which was not enjoyable due to stomach turning turbulence.  It was the worst turbulence I have ever had in my life, and we had no idea why it was so bad.
  • ·      Got through customs with no problem, picked up my bag (which wasn’t lost), and made my way out!
  • ·      Cec had a sign for me and of course she started crying as soon as she hugged me.  Walked outside to the strongest winds Melbourne had have in 5 years, which would explain the reason for the horrible turbulence.

Cec’s sister picked us up from the airport and brought us straight back to her house.  The first thing I did was take a shower which was exactly what I needed.  Cec’s sister wasn’t feeling to great so Cec and I adventured out and took her niece with us.

We stopped at a café first, and I forgot how much more expensive food is in Australia.  A burger, with bacon, cheese and regular toppings with chips, was 18 AUD.   Mind you the exchange rate is pretty similar.  I will admit it was a yummy burger, but still stocked that I paid $18 for it! After lunch, we adventured to Sky High, which is this high point in the area where you can see awesome views! And then just drove around for a little to give Maja an extra rest.

Once we got back to the house, we hung out on the couch watching Emily play with the dog, which is so funny!  I was good until we were sitting on the couch, eventually the jet lag started to hit.  Maja made us dinner and then once Emily was asleep we watched some tv.  My goal was to make it till 8:30pm, and I made it until 9:30pm! Woohoo.  I took some Zquil, and passed out! I did wake up around 4:00am, but was able to go back asleep until my alarm went off.  I didn’t want to sleep so much, so that alarm had been set for 8:00am.

I got out of bed, expecting that Emily would be up but no, no one was up! :( I went through the cabinets to find something for breakfast.  Settled on corn flakes, but thought they wouldn’t be sweet so I went on the hunt for sugar.  I knew I should have tasted the sugar before putting it on to make sure it was sugar, but I didn’t and just put in on the cereal.   Well I took a bite, and thought it tasted weird.  Thinking it could be just because I brushed my teeth, I took another bite and knew something wasn’t right.  Well it was salt, not sugar!  Oppps and gross.  I eventually found the sugar and re made my cereal!

I luckly got to sykpe with my parents, who could see me but I couldn’t see them for some reason.  They got to meet Emily and had a blast talking with her and she of course loved the attention. Telling them what certain animals say and pointing at her self on the screen!

I hung out with Miss Emily while Cec drove Maja to doctors to find out what she had.  We of course had a blast as she is one fun spunky toddler.  Maja ended up having the Flu, so we took care of Emily until we left for Port Fairy for the wedding.  Cec decided it would be best to change Emily before we left and poor Emily ended up looking like this:

Megs, one of Sam’s childhood friends, picked up Cec and I to drive about 4 hours to the destination of the wedding.  We got there no problem and not getting lost!  Hung out and enjoyed the cute little cottage we had.  We eventually went to go try the “best fish and chips in Victoria” and it was closed.. L So we then explored the area and found a pizza place and food store.

We brought food back and just hung out in the living room, eating, drinking and playing UNO.  It was awesome and perfect way to enjoy a night before the wedding! … Next update will be about the wedding, stay tuned!

Love always, aloterella :)
